On April 3, 2025, the BAG-INTEL consortium gathered for its mid-term review meeting with the European Commission. Held in Tallinn, Estonia, the meeting brought together representatives from all BAG-INTEL project partners, who presented the technical progress, scientific achievements, and overall developments made during the first half of the project. The Project Officer, Francesco Lorubbio, and the appointed reviewers, Michael Scholles and Armin Zotter, joined the meeting remotely.

During the meeting, BAG-INTEL Project Coordinator Henrik Larsen, Technical Manager Georgios Bardas, and Work Package leaders provided an overview of key milestones, submitted deliverables, and ongoing research activities. The consortium also outlined its plans for the remainder of the project. The presentations underscored the consortium’s commitment to advancing innovative solutions for customs controls through close collaboration with stakeholders and continuous progress evaluation.
Following the detailed Work Package presentations, a constructive discussion ensued. The Project Officer and reviewers offered valuable feedback, particularly on the exploitation strategy and the future integration of BAG-INTEL’s technologies across different airports.
The review meeting concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the consortium’s dedication to delivering cutting-edge solutions and ensuring the project’s successful continuation. BAG-INTEL Project Coordinator Henrik Larsen remarked:
