The Storytellers: Making Innovation Accessible

Behind every complex research and innovation project is a team dedicated to sharing its story. For BAG-INTEL, that responsibility falls to Martel Innovate – Klaudia, who leads the communication, dissemination, and community-building efforts, and Galileo, who masterfully designs the project’s visual assets. Together, they form a crucial bridge, connecting the project’s technical advancements with the people who will benefit from them.

Klaudia’s work focuses on translating complex scientific and technical progress into relatable and engaging content. Her days are a mix of coordinating activities, writing articles, and crafting social media posts that capture the essence of the project. “I see my role as simplifying the complex,” she explains. “I want to ensure that BAG-INTEL research isn’t confined to academic papers and technical reports. It needs to be understood by everyone, from customs officers to the general public.”

The Art and Science of Communication

While Klaudia handles the narrative, Galileo is responsible for ensuring the visuals are clear and compelling. He creates the graphics and videos that help audiences understand the project’s innovations. From an infographic explaining a complex process to a video demonstrating technological components, his designs are crucial for making the project’s message both accessible and powerful. “Visuals have a unique power to simplify the complex,” Galileo says. “Our work is about making sure that the graphics are not just well-designed, but that they truly help people grasp the value of what BAG-INTEL is doing.”
Their collaboration is seamless. They are constantly working together to ensure that the written content and the visual elements are perfectly aligned, creating a cohesive and impactful message. Their partnership is a prime example of the multidisciplinary teamwork that defines the entire BAG-INTEL consortium.

Motivated by a Bigger Picture

Klaudia and Galileo are driven by more than just their job descriptions; they are motivated by the project’s purpose. “Being part of a project that helps make customs operations more efficient and secure is incredibly rewarding,” Klaudia shares. “We’re helping to show people how innovation directly contributes to a safer world.” For Galileo, the motivation is in the creative journey itself. He adds, “I’m constantly motivated by seeing a technical idea transformed into a compelling visual. It’s rewarding to watch a concept go from a blank page to something that helps explain a vital part of the technical solution.”

As the project moves forward, their work becomes even more critical. They will continue to be the storytellers, ensuring that the project’s tangible impact reaches those who will benefit from it most.
