BAG-INTEL at SICUR 2026

From February 24th to 27th, the Guardia Civil (GUCI) represented BAG-INTEL at one of Europe’s premier security events: the SICUR 2026 International Security Exhibition. Held at the IFEMA Madrid exhibition center, the event served as a high-impact platform for sharing the project’s mission with a global audience of security professionals.

SICUR 2026 saw an impressive turnout, with over 47,000 professionals from 83 countries in attendance. This massive gathering provided an ideal ecosystem for BAG-INTEL to gain visibility among Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), public administrations, industry leaders, and SMEs.

The Guardia Civil’s institutional stand served as a hub for innovation. Throughout the four-day event, members of the Technological Innovation Service (part of the newly created Digital Transformation and Cybersecurity Headquarters) engaged in several key dissemination activities:

  • Multimedia Showcasing: A dedicated video presentation of EU-funded initiatives, prominently featuring BAG-INTEL, was screened in a continuous loop for visitors.
  • Interactive Engagement: The team utilized table tent cards featuring QR codes, allowing tech-savvy attendees to instantly access project details and updates via their mobile devices.
  • Direct Outreach: Personnel were on hand to provide in-depth explanations of BAG-INTEL’s objectives, methodology, and expected impact on European security.
  • Information Materials: Physical dissemination materials were distributed to a diverse demographic, ranging from industry experts and university researchers to secondary school students interested in the future of security technology.

Beyond the exhibition floor, the Guardia Civil actively participated in the “Introduction to the 2026 Cluster 3 Call and Pitching” session. This event proved vital, facilitating bilateral meetings with stakeholders across the Horizon Europe Cluster 3 and Cluster 4 communities.

By engaging directly with these networks, the project continues to strengthen its ties with the broader European research and innovation landscape.
