On March 6-7, 2024, the BAG-INTEL consortium gathered for a 2-day face-to-to-face meeting in Madrid, Spain. The event held at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport brought together nearly 40 representatives from 20 partner organizations. Those who could not make it in person, attended the meeting remotely.
The meeting was opened by the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport officials who warmly welcomed the consortium and thanked project partners for choosing the airport as the location for one of the project use cases. During the two day gathering, presentations of technical work packages and updates on the status of the various tasks and activities took place. All technical partners had a chance to present their initial work and plans for the coming months. The presentations were followed by brainstorming sessions that gave the partners a chance to discuss several open points and exchange experiences gained in the first six months of the project. Besides, the meeting featured sessions covering communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities, as well as project coordination and management. The sessions were enriched by two tours of the airport facilities. The consortium had a chance to visit two terminals, one of the arrivals lounges, customs facilities, as well as see the baggage handling system. The tours facilitated the discussions and helped close several open points. The team is now getting ready to install the equipment needed to perform the work within Use Case 3.
