On March 4, 2024, the BAG-INTEL project partners who will be involved in Use Case 3: Large international airport, gathered at the Isdefe premises in Madrid to align on the work needed to prepare the ground for the project use case that will be taking place at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport.

The meeting was split into two parts. The first part of the meeting attended by Isdefe, the Spanish Tax Administration Agency, and the Spanish Civil Guard was dedicated to discussions about assumptions, limitations, exercise conditions, and potential use case sub-scenarios, including contingencies. The team also discussed whether the project should engage actors or real passengers in the use case. The idea behind the first meeting was to agree on a unified position to be presented during the second part of the meeting and identify key open aspects that will need to be discussed at later project stages.

The second part of the meeting focused on contraband items taxonomy. The University of Granada joined the discussion and raised some important questions on whether a specific taxonomy for a variety of contraband items already exists. The Tax Administration Agency and the Civil Guard shared their knowledge on the matter pointing out legally prescribed medicines which are subject to quantity limitations. The University of Granada also received a list of potential regulations to be considered.
