We are pleased to announce the launch of second BAG-INTEL survey on standards, continuing our work to support innovation and harmonization in border management and security operations across Europe.
As part of the ongoing standards task and upcoming deliverables, this new survey focuses on key areas shaping modern border control and risk assessment. These include standards in Customs, Police and Law Enforcement operations, Detection Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Data Management, and Risk Management.
Building on insights gathered during the first standards survey conducted in early 2025, this second questionnaire explores additional dimensions and emerging needs. Stakeholders who participated previously are strongly encouraged to contribute again, as this survey complements and expands upon earlier findings.
Our consortium invites a broad range of stakeholders from the border management domain to take part. This includes professionals from customs administrations, law enforcement agencies, technology providers, software developers, research organizations, and policy experts.
Importantly, the survey is completely anonymous, ensuring that all responses remain confidential and cannot be traced back to individual participants.
Even stakeholders who feel they may not have direct input on standards are encouraged to respond. Gathering diverse perspectives—including those highlighting gaps or uncertainties—is essential to building a comprehensive understanding of the current landscape.
The results of this survey will play a crucial role in shaping future policy recommendations and standardization activities aimed at European Union institutions. The overarching goal is to ensure that the voices of all relevant stakeholders are reflected in future frameworks and initiatives.
